The Stoning of Soraya M. IN Islam.

Lately I have been wanting to watch a horror film, I did not get a chance though. However, yesterday I saw The Stoning of Soraya M. which is one of the most horrifying mental horror films I have ever seen. Many people might not be able to understand it, or might think it is BS, but it so horrifying for a person like me. I come from a culture in which women still get murdered every day. Their close minded brothers and cousins commit honor crimes, and they never get questioned by the “law.”

I couldn’t sleep, The Stoning of Soraya M. is so powerful if a person relates to it. The movie explores how religion erases the minds of some people. How they become so narrow sighted they can’t think for themselves. That is exactly what The Stoning of Soraya M. shows the international audience. How Islam erases the minds of many people and replaces them with bullshit. A mother is willing to slaughter her own daughter if Allah says she should. However, Allah never comes down on earth and speaks, its the BS people thousands of years ago wrote. Allah wants its people to think and be good for each other not kill and slaughter, most of the time, innocent women. In the medieval times in Europe they used to kill women too. If anyone accused a woman of being a witch they used to drown her. If she drowns to the bottom and dies then she’s innocent. If she floats then she’s a witch and must be burned. Everyone over the ages committed murders against women. The difference between Europe and the Islamic world is that, in Europe they stopped and developed, in the Islamic world the majority is becoming more close minded and backward.

The Stoning of Soraya M. could have been more powerful. I did not like the ending, I mean the very last scene. When Zahra Khanum( Shohreh Aghdashloo) looks up to the sky and says that the whole world will know now, it felt so PG 13 to me. Other than that The Stoning of Soraya M. is horrifyingly powerful.©

in Islam, you can’t be stoned without any evidence and both sexes get it, not just only women. I guess the movie forgot to mention that, even the persian/muslim-populated culture as a whole. it also forgets to mention for any man, even your own husband to accuse any woman to have committed adultery without evidence is one of the biggest sins you could ever do because Allah knows its easy for men to do this, for the strong to overpower the weak. for any man who’s done this to his wife, sister, mother, aunt -do you think he will get away with it, be it in this world or in the Hereafter? do the Ayatolloah’s mention this or do they have their own version of the Quraan?

Thats right, both sexes get stoned. If they both were married. But in the case of Soraya the man was not married he was a widow. As I know, if a man was single he doesn’t get stoned to death. If they were both single, in islam, they both get whipped. In our days, Nothing happens to men, women get slaughtered with or without evidence by thier brothers and fathers. It only needs one man to say that a woman is “not clean” for her to be killed.
If there is an afterlife they will not get away with it. However, I personally don’t care bout the afterlife, since i don’t believe in it. Those men who kill young and innoncent women, doesn’t matter if a woman had sex or not, must be punched here on earth.

I believe that Ayatolloahs have their own version of Quraan and they use it in favor of their own favors.

I have not seen the movie yet as I am overseas at the moment. Sharia should be banned by the United Nations. It is nothing more than patriarchal power grab that has lived out it’s usefulness. The only people who support Sharia are old men and child molesting mullahs who want to maintain power. Anyone else who supports Sharia is brainwashed.

dear alphaheretic, I strongly agree with you. However UN cannot band it. The people need to enlighten up and convert out of it. Luckily there are many of us who set examples for the others. If I did it, anyone can do it.
